Remember this.

Gwen is one of Dave's fellow radiologists at work. She is a single mom and is being deployed to Iraq for 4 months. She wanted to get some pictures of her and her daughter hanging out together before she leaves. So many of them melt my heart. I can't even imagine having to leave my children for that long. What a debt of gratitude we owe to the many families that sacrifice to protect our freedom. One of the most moving memorials to me in Washington D.C. is the Korean war memorial. Inscribed on the wall is "Freedom isn't Free." I hope these pictures bring a smile to their faces and a feeling of love for both mom and daughter during the months of separation.

Baby Dylan

oh the yumminess.

I have been looking for the perfect wooden bowl for newborn shots for a long time. I had a picture in my mind of what I wanted. I found one in Illinois while visiting my sister. The basket below I bought there too.

Guard cat.

I love the expression on the baby's face here. That reminds me so much of having a newborn.

Walters

What do you get when you have a beautiful mother, and a handsome father?

Why gorgeous children of course! It was a rainy rainy frigidly cold day when we took these. But it was the only day that worked for this family when I was in Illinois. Luckily my sister has the coolest wrap around porch on the back of her house, fun rustic furniture, and a view to boot. It just goes to show, you can make anything work.

P.S. My sister is always saying how the Mom of this family reminds her of me. I think it is the similar coloring, but than when I posted this and the mom's face is right by mine....we do look like we are sisters. I am the much older sister. ha ha
